We announce the death of Caryl Dukes (Marathon, Iowa), who passed away on October 24, 2026, at the age of 87. Caryl will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Taylor and Margaret Taylor. She is survived by: her children, Lynda, Jennifer, John and Juliann Walter (Mark); her grandchildren, Brennan, Rachel and Lynda Dukes Franey (Mike); her great grandchild Payton; her granddaughter Jennifer Lee (Scott); her great grandchildren, Lydia (Ewan Barrett) and Anna; her grandson John Dukes (Lisa); her great grandchildren, Josie and John Taylor; and her siblings, Helen Mae, Barb, Darlene and John. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and innumerable friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Thursday, October 29th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the United Church of Diagonal (400 Adams St, Diagonal, IA 50845).
