The memory of Darlene Ballard of Marcus, Iowa, who passed away on October 10, 2025 at the age of 88, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Christensen and Violet Christensen (Dahlin); her husband Jerry; and her brother Julius P. Christensen. She is survived by: her daughters, Julie Ballard of Marcus, IA and Susan Kolker (Arlan) of Shawnee, KS; her granddaughters, Allison Kolker (Kyle Epps) of Chicago, IL, Ashley Kleich (Taylor) of Sioux City, IA and Jaidyn Ballard of Wayne, NE; and her great grandchildren, Landon and Paige Kleich.
A rosary will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 4:30 PM to 4:45 PM at the Fisch Funeral Home (310 Fulton St, Remsen, IA 51050). Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 4:45 PM to 6:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 9:30 AM. A vigil service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Holy Name Catholic Church (102 N Elm St, Marcus, IA 51035). A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 11:45 AM at the Holy Name Cemetery (201 E Highland Dr, Marcus, IA 51035).
