With solemn reverence, we commemorate Richard D. Nelson of Marcus, Iowa, whose life came to an end on May 27, 2026 at the age of 71, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Nelson and Beverly Nelson (Green); his parents-in-law, Malcolm and Dorothy Hyndman; and his brother-in-law Mike Olhausen.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Nelson of Marcus, Iowa; his children, Megan Nelson of Johnston and Chad Nelson of Johnston, Iowa; his sisters, Diane (Keith Zevenbergen) and Nancy (Dave Hughes); and his siblings-in-law, Molly Olhausen of Cherokee and Matt (Cindy Hyndman). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Rick's honor to the Cherokee Golf Course.
