Jean J. Merritt Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jean J. Merritt (Marengo, Iowa), born in Waterloo, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 21, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elwood Harwell and Eloene Harwell (Davis); her husband Chuck; and her siblings, Jerry and Janice.
She is survived by: her children, Lee Ann Mitchler (Allan) of Elkhart Lake, WI and Doug Merritt of Marengo; and her grandchildren, Allison Mitchler, Kyra Merritt, Alexandra Mitchler and Jenna Merritt.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (895 Court Ave, Marengo, IA 52301). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
A memorial fund has been established for Iowa Valley Elementary School.
