He was predeceased by : his parents, Dr. John D. McDaniel and Lavina Jenner McDaniel; his brothers, Charles McDaniel of California and Fred McDaniel of San Angelo; his son-in-law Tim Jones; his brother-in-law Marvin Simpson; and his great grandchild Tripp Austin.
He is survived by : his former life partner Peggy Jackson; his grandchildren, Zach Austin (Julie) of Longview, Adam McKinnon (Kelly) of Houston, Carrie Austin of Abilene, Rebecca Kennedy of Abilene, Jamie Jones of Abilene, Chris McKinnon (Sarah) of Austin, Megan Thompson and Nicholas Dusckas (Julie) of San Angelo; his sisters, Carolyn Simpson of San Angelo and LaVina McDaniel of Cleburne; his spouse Annelle Simpson Vick; and his children, Dennis (Kim Vick), Sheila (Donnie Hooker) and Cheri (Richard McKnight). He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
