He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Plotz and Elizabeth Plotz (McGuire); and his siblings, Mary Plotz, Leo, Melvin, Jerry, John, Eldred and Thomas.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Ballard of Patrick's Catholic Church; his children, Mark Plotz (Teresa) and Lisa Costigan of Marengo; his grandchildren, Megan Plotz of Cedar Rapids and Casey Costigan of Marengo; and his brother-in-law Richard Ballard. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A general memorial fund has been established.
