As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Arlene may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Gerhard Tonsager and Sylvia Tonsager (Sveum); her husband Walt; and her sisters, Beulah, Shirley, Dorothy and Gladys.
She is survived by: her children, Gary Behnke (Vickie) of Anamosa and Marcia Achenbach (Larry) of Marion; and her grandchildren, Troy Achenbach, Tiffani Evenson-Achenbach and Melissa Schmitt. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Faith Lutheran Church (155 Boyson Rd, Marion, IA 52302). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
