He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Dixon and Alma Dixon (Barnett); his siblings, Ed, Joe, Billy Dixon, Mildred Lea, Ruby Murphy, Bertha Hatchcock, Nancy West and Jean Coker; and his grandsons, Samuel Peters and Josh Dixon.

He is survived by: his wife Viktoria "Dora" Penzkofer of Marion; his children, Charles "Chuck" Dixon (Candi Schnepf) of Anamosa, Robert "Rob" Dixon (Barb) of Troy Mills, Daniel "Dan" Dixon (Jenn) of Chandler, Arizona and Heidi Peters (Ray) of Council Bluffs, Iowa; his grandchildren, Heather, Matt, Nick, Austin, Kelli Jo, Rachel, Caleb and Charles "CJ"; his great grandchildren, Abel (Sydney), Kaleb, Morgan, Katlynn, Pacience, Bridget, Genevieve, Reagan, Dominic and Caleigh; and his sister Martha Steele of Birmingham, Alabama. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be directed to Bridgehaven Pregnancy Support Center in Cedar Rapids.
