He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Svestka and Marcella Svestka (Taylor); and his brothers-in-law, Earl S. Cooley and Darrel "Randy" Cooley. He is survived by: his wife Terri Svestka; his children, Cheri Svestka, Gregory Svestka (Brenda) and Steven Svestka (Maya); his grandchildren, Kayte Benhart, Alyssa Hartwig, Nathan Svestka, Samantha Svestka and Hudson Svestka; his great grandchildren, Mateo, Elijah and Silas Benhart; his siblings, Larry Svestka (Jane), Gary Svestka (Nancy) and Sandy Oakley (Tom); and his sister-in-law Debby Cooley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service (3855 Katz Dr, Marion, IA 52302). A memorial service was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
