He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Guffey and Verna Guffey (Shepherd); and his brothers, Jimmy and Kenneth. He is survived by: his wife Moira; his children, Richard (Paulette), Heather and Helen; his grandchildren, Stephanie-Rae, Kyra, Liam, Joaquin, Mark, Stephanie and Paul; and his sister Sue. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association in Gary's honor.
