He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara DeKlotz; his son Randy DeKlotz; and his parents, Minnie DeKlotz and Ed DeKlotz. He is survived by: his children, Debbi Washburn (Daniel) of Marion and David DeKlotz (Sherry) of Lake; his grandchildren, Andrew Washburn (Samantha), Leah Buckles (Curt), Nichole Holze (Ryan) and Samantha O'Connor (Michael); his great grandchildren, Luke, Lucy Holze, Kayleigh O'Conner and Lila Washburn; and his siblings-in-law, Allan Eggers (Lee), Cindy Jennings and Cathy Humeniak (Joe).

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Paul's Lutheran Church or Suncrest Hospice of Cedar Rapids.
