He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Sylvester and Edytha Sylvester (Due); his wife Bethel Sylvester; his son Dennis Sylvester; his siblings, Don, Tom Sylvester and Juanita Kuhnhofer (Earl); his stepfather Leroy Wood; and his sister-in-law Kathy Sylvester.
He is survived by: his sons, Philip (Cindy) and Mark Sylvester; his daughters-in-law, Kim Sylvester and Lisa Roth; his grandchildren, Teisha Heft (Patrick), Luke Sylvester, Cody Sylvester, Jered Sylvester and Tyler Sylvester (Allie); his great grandchildren, Austin Heft (Sarah), Abbigail Costello (Collin), Alicia Heft (Will), Quentin Sylvester, Rory Sylvester, Harper Sylvester, Kane Sylvester, Madeline Joy Sylvester, Abel Sylvester and Wade Sylvester; and his siblings, Sharon Allen (Bob) and Chuck Sylvester.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service (3855 Katz Dr, Marion, IA 52302). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
