He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond McCleary and Nellie McCleary (French); his siblings, Arlys and Dean McCleary; and his son-in-law John Kroupa.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Claypool; his children, Deborah Jackson (Gerald) of Davisburg, Cheryl Kroupa of Northglenn, Colorado and Kenneth McCleary (Elizabeth) of Ankeny, Iowa; his grandchildren, Nicole Moore (Joe), Cassandra Todd (Matt), Benjamin Jackson, Kara, Andrew Kroupa, Matthew, Carolyn, Joel and Anna McCleary; his great grandchildren, Avery, Jackson Moore, Kennedy and Kinsley Todd; his brother Dayle McCleary (Linda) of Springville, Iowa; and his sister-in-law Pat McCleary.
