We are sad to announce that on April 16, 2023, at the age of 97, Matilda Tan Javellana of Marion, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her siblings, Bob, Gloria, Lilia, Eleanor, Francisco, Virgilia, Amador, Alberto, Romulo, Salvador and Auerlio; her nieces and nephews, Lori-Ann, Beverly, Nang Eva, Ate Linda, Nang Charit, Joey, Alex, Renato and Ariel; her nephew-in-law Jimmy Divino (Burke Pullman); and her parents, Albino Javellana and Encarnacion Tan Javellana.
She is survived by: her daughter Emma Nemecek (Terry) of Marion; her grandchildren, Charlotte (Jerry), Thea, Kate, Kaye, Vivien, Jet and Kris; her great grandchildren, Ashley, Jeremiah and Joshua; her brother Adolfo Javellana; her siblings-in-law, Heloise Javellana, Marita Javellana, Dindin Javellana and Romeo Gensoli; her nieces and nephews, Dayen, Dodoy Simon, Gingin Figueroa (Art), Maggie Shannahan (Rex), Althea Hasse (Dan), Glenda Bello (Tim), Rene, Madeline and Ralph Gensoli (Jubeth); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Lauren, Emma and Ivan; and her nieces and nephews, Faith Javellana, Emcy Sanchez and Bob Clarence Javellana. She is also survived by many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be directed to the family c/o Teahen Funeral Home, 3100 F Ave. NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405 and will be used to take Matilda's remains back to the Philippines.
