We are sad to announce that on June 29, 2022, at the age of 88, Roberta Florence McBurney of Marion, Iowa, born in Austin, Minnesota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Claire Hughes and Beatrice Hughes (Tucker); her husbands, Ernest Root and Russell McBurney; her daughter Amber Sherman; her sisters, Shirley Bolton and Dorothy Kratz; and her grandsons, Robert Beitz, Ricky Beitz and Ernest Root.
She is survived by: her children, Elton Root (Cinda) of Winterset, Rebecca Hannam (Mike) of Marion, Martha Welton (John) of Cedar Rapids, Grace Beitz (Richard) of Marion and Trudy Thompson (David) of Dundee, Michigan; and her brother Arthur Hughes of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
