She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Atkinson (Betty) and Lavon Atkinson; her husband Bill; her in-laws, Earl and Lucille Merritt; her brothers, Danny and Denny; her siblings-in-law, Bob, Becky and Barb; and her nephews, Dave and Dalton.
She is survived by: her daughters, Michelle Hotchkiss (Berne) of Cedar Rapids and Staci Tave (Chris) of Texas; her grandchildren, Kiona, Jai, Tyler (Sammy), Megan and Bryce; her great grandchildren, Bryson and D'Mari; her grandchildren, Molly, Bella, Seiya and CoCo; and her siblings, Mark Atkinson (Cathi), Mary Ohl (Steve), Patti Boge (Jeff), Darrell McElligott (Nikki), Mary Jensen (Derek), Russ (Denise), Sue (Randy) and Terri (Dennis). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to one of Sandy's favorite charities: Families Helping Families, Young Parents Network, Dennis & Donna Hospice House of Mercy, Theatre Cedar Rapids, or a nonprofit of your choice in her honor.
