He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Nugent and Laura Nugent (Drahn); his wife Janet Whitting; and his brothers, Jerry and Dan.
He is survived by: his children, Peter (Kathy) of Kansas City, Paul (Nancy), Tom (Lynette) of Cedar Rapids and Lenchen Raeside (Bob). He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service (3855 Katz Dr, Marion, IA 52302). A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hope Baptist Church, located at 13012 Delmar, Leawood, Kansas 66209.
