He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Refugio Yepez Soto and Maria Consuelo Martinez Sanchez; and his friends, Beto Valdez and José López. He is survived by: his children, Gabriela, Daniela and Jairo Yepez of Marshalltown; his grandson Dario Banda Yepez; and his close friend César Sánchez. He is also survived by his seven siblings.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Francis of Assisi - St. Henry's Church (221 W Olive St, Marshalltown, IA 50158). A rosary will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
