He is survived by: his wife Linda McAnulty of LeGrand; his daughter Denise Smoldt; his grandchildren, Hunter Smoldt and Sophie Smoldt of LeGrand; his son Jason Johnston (Amanda); his grandchildren, Sara Remster, Jason Johnston Jr., Hadley Johnston and Kennedy Johnston of LeGrand; his daughter Andi Bucklin (Nick); his grandson Elliott Bucklin of Pleasant Hill; his son Joel McAnulty (Tammy); his grandchildren, DJ Norem, Jordan McAnulty, Rachael McAnulty of Marshalltown and Anistyn Borsch of Marshalltown; and his sister Trena Boucher (Bruce) of Minneapolis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa River Hospice or the Vietnam Veteran Memorial Fund.
