He was predeceased by: his parents, Commodore Perry (Bill) and Myrtle Grace Mitchell. He is survived by: his wife Eileen Mitchell; his daughters, Colleen Beck (Tom) of Des Moines, Glenda Oitzman (Doug) of Queen Creek, AZ and Michele Irwin (Jamie) of Marshalltown; and his grandchildren, Jacob Beck (Laura), Joshua Beck (Twila), Krystal Stegmaier (Paul), Abby Chavez (Casey) and Sam Irwin. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Iowa River Hospice, Hope United Methodist Church or to a charity near and dear to your heart.
