In the echoes of fond remembrance, may a sense of peace be found, knowing that the memories held dear will continue to shape and inspire his loved ones, keeping Dennis' spirit alive in the hearts and actions of family and friends alike. While his presence may be gone, his impact lives on in the kindness shown to others and the joy found in the ordinary moments of life.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Thomas Atkinson, Jr. and Lavon Blanche Atkinson (Thomas); his brother Danny Atkinson; his nephew Dalton DeSotel; and his brother-in-law Bill Merritt.
He is survived by: his siblings, Sandra Merritt of Marion, IA, Mary Ohl (Steve) of Independence, IA and Mark Atkinson (Cathi) of Olin, IA; and his sister-in-law Donna Atkinson of Dubuque, IA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the White Funeral Home (400 1st St W, Independence, IA 50644). A burial was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Cass Township Cemetery.
