He was predeceased by: his parents, Emanuel Zmolek and Violet Zmolek (Upah); and his granddaughter Sara Skuster. He is survived by: his wife Sandy of Toledo; his children, Mark Zmolek (Nancy) of Urbandale, Denise Skuster (Tim), Mitchell Zmolek of Mt. Vernon and Dana Foster of Dike; his grandchildren, Chelsea Collins, Abby Zmolek, Megan Skuster, Garrett Skuster, Clair Zmolek, Hedy Zmolek, Jaxson Foster, Ellie Foster and Payton Foster; his great grandchildren, Rainey Blue Skuster and Sloane Collins; and his brother Douglas Zmolek (Cindy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and other family members.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home (1209 Iowa Ave W, Marshalltown, IA 50158). A Mass was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church - St. Francis of Assisi Parish (11 W Linn St, Marshalltown, IA 50158).
