Edith Rankin Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on May 24, 2025, at the age of 96, Edith Rankin of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Edith leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her father Earl McDonald; her husband Donald Rankin; her mother Marie Eggleston (Everett); and her siblings, Jeannie Safranek (Lou), Ann Murphy (Tom), Vernita Kruger, Neva Welter and John McDonald (Donna).
She is survived by: her brother Rick Eggelston. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Edith's name may be designated to the First Presbyterian Church in Marshalltown, Marshalltown Public Library, Meals on Wheels, and Marshalltown Emergency Food Box.
