He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Otto and Areka Fehrmann (Wisgerhof); his siblings, Betty Sunkle, Neil Fehrmann and Judy Smith; and his brother-in-law Ted Smith Sr..
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Frisbie; his children, Carl Fehrmann (Mary) of Ferguson, Lloyd Fehrmann of Iowa City, Richard Fehrmann (Angie) of Eldora, Fred Fehrmann Jr. of Iowa City, Tami Toszegi (Sandor) of State Center, Michele Earley (Rick) of Marshalltown, Dannyele Stowe (Rob Grimmius) of Marshalltown, Missy Simpson of Marshalltown and Shawn Simpson (Jennifer) of El Paso, Texas.; and his grandchildren, Amber, Kassey, Nikki, Chastine, Matt, Alex, Tristan, Brhee, Samantha, Austin, Ridge, Leven, Alyssa, Molly, Ethan and Savannah. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
