He was predeceased by: his parents, Duwane Thiessen and Lillian Thiessen (Olsen); his children, Rev. Ryan Thiessen of London, U. K. and Amber (Schulz); and his stepson Steve Buchanan Jr. of Cedar Rapids, IA.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Thiessen (Stanton); and his siblings, Lavern Thiessen, Roger Thiessen and Jane Tate. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
