She was predeceased by: her mother Myrtle Doris Cochran (Fuller); her husband Charles "Chuck" Barker; her close friend Roger Osgood; her father Roy Cochran; and her siblings, Lucille Fuller, Roy Cochran Jr., Russell Cochran, Ruby Fuller, Jack Cochran and Gerald Cochran.
She is survived by: her children, Wendy Cornelius and Don Barker (Molly) of Conrad; her stepchildren, Willy Barker, Charlene Burns, Collette Boswell, Corinna Arp, Paulette Millang and Chad Barker; her grandchildren, Sara Bowers (Ray) of Mesa, AZ, Samantha Barker of Corpus Christi, TX, Gabe Barker of Marble Falls, TX and Aiden Barker of Conrad; her stepgrandchildren, Madalyn and Collin Schweinebart; her great grandchildren, Jude of Mesa, AZ and Liam Bowers of Mesa, AZ; and her sister Bonnie Zwanzigger (Lavaughn).
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home (1209 Iowa Ave W, Marshalltown, IA 50158). A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Darlene's name may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Marshalltown.
