He was loved and cherished by many people including: his former wife Charlene Chinn; his wife Ruth Ann Knudson; his daughters, Kelly Renner (Dale) of Boston, MA and Ann Carlson (Greg) of Kansas City, MO; his stepchildren, Joy Baker (Paul Bordovsky) of Colonial Beach, VA and Scott Baker of Marshalltown; his grandchildren, Daniel Renner (Katie), Lissa Curtin (Chris), John Renner (Jack), Mitchell Carlson (Kelsey Tarwater) and Chad Carlson; and his great grandchild Madison Curtin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Grace Community Church, Toledo; Iowa River Hospice House, Marshalltown; Greater Iowa Chapter – Alzheimer's Association, Des Moines.
