He was predeceased by: his parents, William Simeon Scallon and Laura Viola Steffen; his wife Alene; his daughters, Linda Rukavina and Maureen Harrington; his grandson Dr. Mark Tim Rukavina (Sheri); and his great grandchild Mark Richard Rukavina.

He is survived by: his children, Shaune Cathcart (Rick), Mark Scallon, Michael Scallon (Mary) and Kelly Broderick (Steve); his sons-in-law, Dr. Mark W. Rukavina and Brian Harrington; his sister-in-law Mary Meis; and his caregivers, Sofia Salazar, Larry Carl and Mario Badillo. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren - six great grandchildren.
