We announce the death of Robert Berger of Marshalltown, Iowa, who passed away on July 21, 2026, at the age of 71. Robert will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles R. Berger and Gladys Berger (Hayford); and his in-laws, LeRoy and Betty Ziegenfuss. He is survived by: his wife Karen L. Ziegenfuss of Phillipsburg, NJ; his children, Meredith Bell (Brandon) of Marshalltown, IA and Mark Berger (Alexandra) of Brentwood, TN; his grandchildren, Levi, Eliza, Vivian Bell, Jack and Olivia Berger; and his sister Sharyn Berger of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He lived an active lifestyle that included hobbies such as mountaineering (summiting Mt Rainier, Mt Baker, and Mt Hood), golfing, playing racquetball, and working on classic sports cars, before Parkinson's Disease altered his plans.
