He is survived by: his children, Janet Swanson of Hudson and Gary West (Cindy) of Marshalltown; his grandchildren, Brent Swanson (Sarah) of Ames, Brian Swanson (Jackie) of Topeka, Britt Mikels (Ted) of Waterloo and Nicholas West (Diana) of Coralville; his great grandchildren, Alyssa, Brennan, Camdyn Swanson, Nathaniel, Clara, Charlie Swanson, Aspen, Summer, Creighton Mikels, Francis and Anthony West; and his niece Beverly Collins.
Memorials may be directed to Central Christian Church or to the family.
