He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Kaasa and Theresa Kaasa (Olson); his wife LaVonne Kaasa; his stepmother Beatrice; his son Christopher; his siblings, Harris Kaasa (Haldis), Merwyn "Bud" Kaasa and Carol Turner; and his cousin Diane Joines Ring.
He is survived by: his daughters, Julie Pitzen (Keith) of Waterloo and Jennifer Heller (William) of Clear Lake; his grandchildren, Kyle Pitzen, Angel Heller, Wyatt Heller, Garrett Heller, Ty Heller and Christopher Heller; his sisters-in-law, Janice Marshall (Dean Garcia) and JoAnn Kaasa; and his nieces and nephews, Jaren Ostercamp (Brad), Doy Gilbert (Chad), Kai Kaasa, Tim Kaasa (Alice) and Joel Kaasa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Wesley United Methodist Church in Mason City, Iowa.
