She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy M. Thilges and Agnes B. Thilges (Manthei); her husband Ronald Grein; her grandson Michael Dickens; and her siblings, Darlene Zwiefel (Cletus), Leroy Thilges, Jr., Darwin Koepke, Leland Grein (Dorothy), Kenneth Grein (Ruth) and Harold Grein.
She is survived by: her children, Cynthia Merfeld (Steve), Virginia Dickens (Steve), Sheila Olson (Todd) and Scott Grein; her grandchildren, Nicole Fauth (Lary), Danielle Merfeld, Ben Dickens (Christe), Brittany Olson, Connor Olson, Heather Thompson and Trenton Thompson; her great grandchildren, Kensington Fauth, Kyler Fauth, Bradley Dickens, Lucas Dickens, Emma Dickens, Isaac Thompson and Ethan Thompson; her sister Doreen Koepke; and her sister-in-law Delores Thilges. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Epiphany Parish - Holy Family (722 N Adams Ave, Mason City, IA 50401). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Epiphany Parish – Holy Family (722 N Adams Ave, Mason City, IA 50401).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left in her honor to the Mike Dickens Legacy Foundation or Epiphany Parish Catholic Church.
