We are sad to announce that on April 23, 2024, at the age of 74, Donovan R. Bates (Mason City, Iowa) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Donovan H. Bates and Mildred M. Bates (Kennedy); his brother Larry Bates; and his sister-in-law Gail Bates. He is survived by : his wife Becky Crawford; his children, Amanda Fischer (Josh), Abbigayl Bates and Adam Bates; his siblings, Nancy Anderson (Melvin), Norma Beard (Melvin) and Lester Bates; and his grandchildren, Sophia, Keelie, Isabel, Kayden and Ellie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory (111 N Pennsylvania Ave, Mason City, IA 50401).
