He was predeceased by : his wife Deanna; his sons, James and Joel; and his parents, Archie and Grace.

He is survived by : his friends, Gunther Hugo and Gary.

A reception will be held on Thursday, May 9th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Fullerton Funeral Home (123 2nd St SE, Mason City, IA 50401). The inurnment will be held on Friday, May 10th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Memorial Park Cemetery (11495 265th St, Mason City, IA 50401).

Gary was a long-time donor to St Jude's Hospital and in place of flowers feel free to support that organization, The American Cancer Society and any Veterans and First Responder charities.
