She was predeceased by: her parents, Otto John Frederick and Lizzie Reinke (Aders); her husband Joel Hanes; her sister Ruby Reed; her daughter Kay Ehlers; her son-in-law Steve Ehlers; and her close friend Marly Holtz.
She is survived by: her children, Joel Hanes of Santa Clara, CA, Susan Helle (Steven) of Champaign, IL, Ann Hanes (Carol Kelly), Linda Hanes and Barb Roberts; and her grandchildren, Kimberly Pape of Santa Clara, CA, Samuel Hanes of Reno, NV, Samantha Sebens (Skylar), Stephanie Helle, Bansko Bulgaria, Aimee Vincent (Steve) of Aurora, CO, Lynn Ehlers (Mitch Williams) of Thornton, CO and John Ehlers of Aurora, CO. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed towards First Presbyterian Church, Girl Scout Camp Tanglefoot, or NIACC.
