She was predeceased by : her parents, Herbert Scheihing and Evelyn Scheihing; and her daughter-in-law Wendy Chase. She is survived by : her daughter Evelyn Scheihing (Thie); her husband James Chase of Mediapolis; her children, Amber Parrott of Mediapolis, Josephine Ballard (Nicholas) of Lima, OH and James Chase of Sperry; her grandchildren, Tyler Parrott, Chase Parrott, Bryce Ballard, Ethan Ballard, Lily Chase and Tessa Chase; her stepgrandchildren, Josh Ballard (Chantel) and Kale Vega; and her brother Charles Scheihing.

Memorials may be directed to Southeast Iowa Hospice or the Shriners in memory of Ellen.
