She was predeceased by: her parents, Arnold Janssen and Inez Janssen (Moehle); her husband Bill; and her siblings, Loretta Kuster and Bill Janssen.
She is survived by: her children, Chris Mumme (Dean) of West Burlington, Mike Belknap (Annette) of Mediapolis, Judy Marshall (Mike) of Coralville and Craig Belknap (Kelly) of Mediapolis; her grandchildren, Lynn Schaul (Nick), Travis Mumme (Chelsie), Cody Belknap (Renee), Dustin Belknap (Madeline), Lance Marshall, Austin Marshall (Kim), Stella Belknap, Scarlett Belknap and Archer Belknap; her great grandchildren, Rhett Mumme, Esme Mumme, Collin Belknap, Savannah Belknap, Georgia Belknap, Todd Belknap, Finn Marshall and Charlie Marshall; and her siblings, Dolores Colton (Lawrence) of Colorado and Gerald Janssen (Lila) of Ankeny. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the Des Moines County Fair and Mediapolis Ambulance in Shirley's name.
