With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gearold Parks of Melcher-Dallas, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 9, 2026 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Norma Ruth Parks; his grandmothers, Ona and Ada Parks; his wife Helen Heinmiller; his sons, Gearold Parks Jr. and Randy Parks; his daughter-in-law Patty Parks; and his siblings-in-law, Judith Heinmiller and David Heinmiller.
He is survived by: his son Doug Parks (Lora Goff); his grandchildren, Abby Masters (Justin) and Joshua Parks (Aspen); his great grandchildren, Josh Masters and Walker Parks; and his sisters-in-law, Melinda Irby (Bobby) and Teresa Wilson (Chris). He is also survived by many relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Pierschbacher Funeral Homes - Melcher (203 E Center St, Melcher-Dallas, IA 50163). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the Melcher-Dallas Fire Department, Dallas Christian Church, or Homestead Memory Care in Chariton.
