She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald O. Lassen and Maurine Lassen (Hampton); her former husband Roland E. "Rollie" Koch; her husband Richard "Dick" Klein; and her brother-in-law Charles "Bud" Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Kelly Koch (Sue) of Iowa City and Karla Jo Stessman (Rick) of Norwalk, Iowa; her brother Dale Lassen (Carol) of Springville; her grandchildren, Andy Koch (Claire), Alex Koch (Kelsey) and Hannah Jo Stessman (Brian O'Brien); her great grandchild Carter Koch; and her sister-in-law Janet Johnson (Koch) of Germantown, Wisconsin. She is also survived by extended family members including five nieces and nephews, stepchildren and step great-grandchildren, and numerous friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service (3855 Katz Dr, Marion, IA 52302). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 11:45 AM at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery (4200 1st Ave NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402).
In lieu of flowers, memorials in JoAnn's memory may be made to the Whittier Community Building; or to the family to be designated later.
