He is survived by: his significant other Shelly Mortenson of Melvin, Iowa; his children, Todd Helmers of Sheldon, Trista Kavanagh (Austin) of Sheldon and Trever Mortenson of Spencer, Iowa; his granddaughter Collins Ann Kavanagh of Sheldon, Iowa; his brother Tim Helmers (Jessica) of Sheldon; and his nieces and nephews, Emma and Ellie Helmers. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends.
