He is survived by: his wife Sandy Susie of Merrill, IA; his sons, Jay Kounkel (Paula) of Merrill, IA and Tyler Kounkel (Amy Bock) of Le Mars, IA; his grandchildren, Natalie'Lou'Kounkel of Le Mars, IA and Levi Kounkel of Le Mars, IA; his stepgrandchildren, Kasey Schumann of Fort Dodge, IA, Aaron Schumann, Nicole Schumann of Fort Dodge, IA and Chloe Hansen of Le Mars, IA; his brother Jack Kounkel (Connie) of Merrill, IA; and his in-laws, Jeannie Williams (Roy) of Holstein, IA, Kathy McCabe of Hermitage, TN and Rose Visser (Pete) of Garner, IA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
