He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Blum and Frances Blum (Ludwig); his wife Bonnie Blum; his brother Marvin Blum; and his in-laws, Virgil Vanderloo, Dick Spies, Jerry Kennedy, Keith Vanderloo, Rich Vanderloo, Janice Blankenburg and Stanley Vanderloo (Geraldine).
He is survived by: his sisters, Audrey Kennedy of Sioux City, IA and Jeanette Wankum-Spies of Merrill, IA; and his in-laws, Curt Vanderloo (Marlene) of Merrill, IA, Glenda Donlin of Merrill, IA, Norma Vanderloo of Waterloo, IA, Carol Vanderloo of Merrill, IA, Wendel Blankenburg of Norwalk, IA and Pat Vanderloo of Sioux City, IA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM. A prayer will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Rexwinkel Funeral Home - Le Mars (107 12th St SE, Le Mars, IA 51031). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery - Ellendale (21650 County Road). A burial will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 11:45 AM at the Hillside Cemetery. A reception will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Kissinger Community Center (608 Main St, Merrill, IA 51038).
