He is survived by: his daughter Nikki Thompson (Jay) of Decorah; his grandchildren, Tyler and Dylin; his daughter Krista Dickman (Joey) of Meservey; his grandchildren, Breckyn and Brylee; his siblings, Kenny Shaw (Linda) and Lucinda Zieman (Dave); his brothers-in-law, Scott Darnell (Mary) and Shane Darnell; and his friend Mike (Pam).
