It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Hegewald of Middle Amana, Iowa, born in Washington, Iowa, who passed away on June 9, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Greiner and Willus Greiner (Reed); her husband Willard Louis Hegewald; and her brothers, Rodney, Terry and Kenny.
She is survived by: her children, Steve Hegewald (Terry) of Keota, Tom Hegewald (Sharon) of Williamsburg, Barbara Heishman (Bruce) of Walford, Leon Hegewald (Rhonda) of Amana and Marla Tursi (Joseph) of Cedar Rapids; her brother Dudley Greiner of Marion; and her sister-in-law Harriet Bierman of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Oxford.
