He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest and Viola Johnson (Becker); his son Dean; his stepfather John Nagel; his sister Violet Woodhurst; his siblings-in-law, Joe Dannels, William Woodhurst, David Frankel, Shirley, Ella, Becky Dannels and Betsy Frankel; and also, Ambrose, Mable Dannels, Elmer, Eldon, Milton and Kenny.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his children, Diane Johnson of Maquoketa, Don Johnson (Brenda) of Clinton and Dan Johnson (Kristi) of Sabula; his brothers, Keith Johnson (Marie) of Miles and James Dannels (Shelley) of Reno, NV; and his sister-in-law Peggy Dannels of Savanna, IL.. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Noon. A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 at the Calvary Lutheran Church (716 Pearl St, Sabula, IA 52070).
