With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James O. Chaplin of Milo, Iowa, born in Indianola, Iowa, who passed away on April 14, 2024 at the age of 75. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James O. Chaplin to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Kenneth Chaplin and Wilma Chaplin (Hervey); and his siblings, Louise Kirkpatrick, Floyd Chaplin, Dwayne Chaplin, Dean Chaplin, Dale Chaplin and Carl Chaplin.

He is survived by : his wife Kathie Wadle; his daughter Katrina Davis (Steve); his grandchildren, Andrew Romick (Celia), Alisa Romick (Melanie), Emily Bates (Nick), Katlyn Millison (Brad), Makenzie Pritchard, Shelby Miller (Peyton), Bryce Romick (Amber Beener) and Drew Davis; and his siblings, Wendell Chaplin, Lois Bennett, John Chaplin, Gary Chaplin, Janice Benge and David Chaplin. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Pierschbacher Funeral Homes - Milo (201 Walnut St, Milo, IA 50166). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. The military honors was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Milo American Legion.
