He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Steward and Dora Steward (Gray); his parents-in-law, Don and Lois Muir (Woodrow); his granddaughter-in-law Jenny Davis; his siblings, Bernard Steward, Deloris Blake, Shirley Jenkins and Ardith Steward; and his brothers-in-law, Russell Jenkins and Jim Adams.
He is survived by: his wife Sinda Steward of Missouri Valley, Iowa; his children, Jaleena Hammond (Kevin) of Elk Horn, Karen Ferreria (Jeff) of Frankfort, Rodney Steward (Sally) of Omaha and Linda Doiel (Dan) of Logan, Iowa; his grandchildren, Brynn Hale (Kaleb), Klayton Hammond, Robert Davis, Marc Ferreria (Amber), Alexis Ferreria (Mike), Quinton Doiel and Marissa Cox (Daniel); his siblings, Lois Adams of La Vista, Nebraska, Norman Steward (Donna) of Omaha, Nebraska and Bernice Birk (George) of Omaha, Nebraska; and his sister-in-law Anna Mae Steward of Wadsworth, Ohio. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Christian Church (722 15th St, Onawa, IA 51040). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
