He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie Hirst and Evelyn Mae Hirst (Park); and his wife Sandra Hirst (Motz). He is survived by: his caregiver Diane; his sons, Kevin Hirst (Tina) and Alan Hirst (Alyx); his grandchildren, Sydney (Sean), Derrick (Bri), Gunnar, Jocelynn and Alaina; his great grandchildren, Blaine, Tucker, Colter, Julia and Taylor; and his sister Judy Ellithorpe (Everett).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hennessey Funeral Home (310 E Huron St, Missouri Valley, IA 51555). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the United Methodist Church (108 E Haley St, Modale, IA 51556).
