It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Twila Vriezelaar (Monroe, Iowa), born in Newton, Iowa, who passed away on June 12, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leland Balmer and Honor Balmer (McCauley); her husband John Vriezelaar; and her daughter Sandra Jean. She is survived by: her children, Susan Gildersleeve (Gregory) and John Hugh Vriezelaar (Gwen); her grandchildren, Stacy Hupfeld, Douglas Gildersleeve (Lauren), Audrey Vriezelaar (Dustin Peters), Adrian McNew (Rob) and Adam Jordison (Tiffany); her great grandchildren, Paige (Dillon), Alex, Bella, Avery, Gavin, Elise and Nash; and her great great grandchildren, Sophie and Layla.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Monroe United Methodist Church (407 N Monroe St, Monroe, IA 50170). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made out to the Monroe United Methodist Church or The Cottages in Pella.
