Hazel Sig-Hester Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 10, 2025, at the age of 103, Hazel Sig-Hester of Montezuma, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Hicks and Ceatta Hicks (Huff); her siblings' children, Melody, Jerry, Sharon, Treva, Valera and Claudia; her husbands, Glen and Maxey; her siblings, Mearle Hicks, Harold Hicks and Treva Pitka; her stepchildren, Joyce Hester, Daniel Hester, Doris Gretz, David Hester and Harold Hester; her stepgranddaughter Esther Gretz; her stepgreat-granddaughter Jenna Norris; and her siblings' child Merika.
She is survived by: her stepdaughter Nancy Lammers (Tony) of Brooklyn; her stepgrandchildren, Bryan Hester, Penny Hester, Clayton Hester, Jennifer Norris (Junior), Elizabeth Botts (Scott), Michael Lammers, Darlene Burnham (Wesley), David Gretz (Angie), Nicholas Hester, Lauren Elliott (Charlie) and Austin Hester (Rachel); her friend Doug Ver Meer; and her nephews, Bill Fred, Jeff and Joel.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the First Presbyterian Evangelical Church (303 E Washington St, Montezuma, IA 50171).
Memorial contributions may be made to the Montezuma Fire Department or Brookhaven Community to be used for resident's activities.
